Douglas Shimizu

Douglas Shimizu is a multimedia artist from Vancouver. Much of his childhood was spent in the Japantown area around Powell Street. After graduating from the University of British Columbia (UBC), he studied and taught in Kyoto for a decade. Now back in Vancouver, he feeds his curiosity by writing, drawing, painting and playing music. His poetry and short stories have also appeared in Aurora award-winning magazines, including Polar Borealis and Polar Starlight, as well as their anthology, Stellar Evolutions.
